Penn Station Athlete Of The Month For February, 2019 – Lauren Hapgood
Congratulations to the Penn Station Athlete of the Month for February, 2019, Lauren Hapgood of Oakwood High School!
Lauren participates in basketball and golf and carries a GPA of 3.9. She is the daughter of Mike and Judy Hapgood and sister to Katie and Taylor.
Lauren said her parents are her role models and Magic Johnson is her sports role model. “I plan to attend and play basketball at Southwestern Okahoma State University and go into Pharmacy,” she said.
Principal Paul Waller said “I am so proud of Oakwood High School Senior, Lauren Hapgood, for receiving the Penn Station Athlete of the Month award. She is an outstanding student athlete who is a leads on and off the court. Congratulations, Lauren!”
Coach Matt Salyer said “Lauren is a very hard worker with an extremely high basketball IQ”.
“I have met many of my closest friends through basketball. Scoring my 1,000th career point has been my greatest achievement so far,” she said.
Lauren’s favorite book is “Safe Haven” and her favorite Penn Station restaurant is the one at the University of Dayton where she enjoys the “Italian” sub.
