Penn Station Athlete Of The Month For March, 2020: Eileen Yang
Congratulations to Eileen Yang, the Penn Station Athlete of the month for March, 2020!
Eileen has a 4.8 GPA at Beavercreek High School where she participates in Track & Field. Besides these sports, she is also in volved in DARE, volunteering at Soin Medical Hospital, tutoring, interning at Wright State Biomedical lab, Girl Scouts (Gold Award recipient), a National Honor Society member, speech and debate and various other activities.
Eileen said, “High school athletics has provided me with the confidence and time-management skills necessary to obtain my goals and to make the most out of every opportunity. I quit gymnastics in middle school because of a back injury and decided to try pole vaulting, a sport that is the closest I can get to flying”. She plans to attend Yale University to pole vault.
Coach James Weckesser said “Eileen has been an amazing athlete to coach. She has been superior for 4 years, both on and off the field. She is a stellar student and an outstanding athlete.”
Eileen names her mother as her role model, while her sports hero is 87 year-old Master Group World Champion Col. Bob Arledge. You may see Eileen at the Beavercreek Penn Station with her favorite Philly Cheesesteak!
