Penn Station Athlete of the Month for October, 2018 – Dominic Ruffolo

Congratulations to Dominic Ruffolo of Archbishop Alter High School, the Penn Station Athlete of the Month for October, 2018!

Dominic is the son of Rick and Tina Ruffolo and the brother of Danielle, Robby, Julia and Anthony.

Dominic participates in Soccer and Basketball and has a 4.23 GPA.  He is also involved in the National Honor Society, Key Club, Peer Ministry and Student Council.  He cites his sister, Danielle, as his role model and Cristiano Ronaldo as his sports role model.

Dominic said his greatest achievement so far has been winning the state soccer championship as a Sophomore and leading the team back to state as a Junior.  After High School, Dominic plans on attending the University of Dayton where he will continue his education and play soccer for the Flyers.

“I have made many friends through high school sports.  I have grown as a leader, and I have developed a real sense of community with everyone involved,” he said.  Dominic started playing soccer with his older brother’s team when he was six where his dad was the coach.  “It was so much fun, and I like that all it takes is one moment or one move to change the momentum and win the game,” he added.

Alter High School Principal Lourdes Lambert said “Dominic’s work ethic is evident in all he does.  He works hard academically, athletically and spiritually to be the best person he can be.  This work ethic, combined with a positive attitude and intense determination, make him an exemplary Alter Knight.  We are so proud of all he has achieved thus far knowing that the best is yet to come.  Congratulations, Dominic!”

Alter Coach Bob Ellis added “Dom is an excellent leader, demonstrates a strong work ethic, and is a very good ambassador for the sport of soccer!”

As for Penn Station, Dom likes the Chicken Teriyaki at the Brown Street location.  Congratulations and best wishes, Dominic!
